Equine Research

Horses have unique
digestive systems that are designed to utilize good-quality forages,
but are inefficient at digesting cereal grains. ADM Alliance
Nutrition®'s research-based FORAGE FIRST® feeding programs that
maximize forage and include feeds and supplements with minerals,
vitamins, healthy fats and proteins combined for each horse
according to specific requirements allow horses to perform at their
best with less risk of digestive and metabolic disorders associated
with high-grain rations.
The ADM Alliance Nutrition Equine Research team includes scientists
with expertise in equine nutrition, equine management, microbiology,
metabolic biochemistry, feed ingredient handling and processing, and
environmental management. Research resources include a pilot plant
for research in handling characteristics of new ingredients and
product and process development. Research projects are also
conducted in cooperation with horse breeding and training facilities
(field research) and with universities.
For example, field research on SENIORGLO® was conducted at William
Woods University in Fulton, MO and on MOORGLO® at The University of
Missouri-Columbia. We are also currently supporting research on
amino acid requirements in horses at Texas A&M University. Our
Equine products are formulated using information reported by
scientists around the world at conferences such as the Equine
Science Society Symposia, The International Conferences on Equine
Exercise Physiology, and the Conference on Equine Nutrition
Research.
Proven Performance from Innovative Nutrition® has as its foundation
individuals who are committed to pursuing excellence in our product
development initiatives. The synergies of our nutrition, feed
technology, and research staff enable us to identify the proper
blends of ingredients with appropriate nutrient balance and
manufacture them in unique formulations using proprietary processes
that may be patented.
For example, GROSTRONG® Minerals for Horses, with 27 vitamins,
minerals and electrolytes including salt were developed in 1929 and
are now available in granular, block and QuadBLOCK® forms. Many top
Equestrians believe GROSTRONG Minerals are the best value in the
equine supplement industry at only about 20 cents per horse daily.

GROSTRONG QuadBLOCK
Minerals for Horses are 25# blocks with a unique shape that can be
easily divided into four 6?# blocks for stall use. QuadBLOCKs give
you the convenience of small blocks at the economical large-block
price and can replace many expensive hoof, coat and single nutrient
supplements and trace-mineral salt blocks, which do not have the
correct balance of minerals for horses.

The pressed block
technology used to create GROSTRONG PRO-VITA-MINtm 20 Tubs, our
unique 20% protein, vitamin, mineral supplemental tubs, was
developed at our pilot plant. PRO-VITA-MIN 20 Tubs provide the
easily digestible protein along with vitamins and minerals required
by broodmares, growing horses and horses on ranges or in pastures
without the 30+% molasses found in many equine tub products.
Prosponse® Yeast is included in FORAGE FIRST products for its
ability to nourish beneficial bacteria and increase fiber
digestibility in a horse's cecum and colon.
Prosponse Nutrium®, with yeast culture, live bacteria and enzymes, is a
top-dress fed to improve appetite and digestive efficiency in
horses. ADM Alliance Nutrition Equine Research is dedicated to
developing the most effective equine feeding programs with the best
value for horse owners.
