Prosponse® is a unique yeast supplement for feeding to all
classes of equine, beef, dairy cattle, poultry, turkeys,
sheep, goats and to starter, grower, gestating and lactating
swine. It is made by an exclusive process that ensures
superior quality brewers yeast with outstanding palatability
and a rich source of naturally occurring B-complex vitamins.
Prosponse also contains an elevated level of highly

Benefits of Yeast
Supplementation |
In general, yeast
supplementation has been shown to increase ration
palatability, which leads to increased feed intake. It also
improves digestibility of ingredients in the ration and
improves rumen function so that the livestock can realize the
nutritional benefits of increased feed intake.
Animals under stress from shipping, excessive heat or other
factors often will consume less feed thereby depriving
themselves of the very nutrients that could help to ease the
stress response. Getting the animals to eat under stress,
having those nutrients absorbed, will help to alleviate the
stress and therefore has the benefit of reducing
susceptibility to disease.

FACTS:
Several studies have
been conducted regarding Prosponse. Programs feeding
Prosponse in comparison to feeding no yeast product or feeding
Diamond V® XP have been explored. Here are some of the facts: |
- 168 crossbred cattle
averaging 256kg initially, were used in a 28-day receiver
study.
Prosponse
improved gain and feed efficiency over the entire feeding
period, primarily because gain and efficiency were better
for this treatment during the first seven days in the
feedlot.
Compared with Diamond V XP, feeding Prosponse improved
overall gain by 7.4% and feed efficiency by 7.0%
- 168 crossbred steers
averaging 231kg initially, were used in a second 28-day
receiver study. These steers were fed diets based on corn
silage, shelled corn and receiver supplement. Control group
diets contained (1) no yeast, (2) 2oz Prosponse per
head/day, (3) 4oz Prosponse per head/day and (4) 4oz Diamond
V XP per head/day.
Feeding 2oz of
Prosponse resulted in the best overall gain and feed
efficiency.
Feed intake was greater when 4oz Prosponse was fed versus
no yeast, or 4oz of
Diamond V XP. (There were no significant benefits for feeding 4oz
versus 2oz of Prosponse)
- 160 crossbred cattle
averaging 454kg initially, were used in a third study.
Control groups were fed high-grain diets for 56 and 84 days.
Soapstock or tallow was used to increase dietary lipid
content to 6.2% of DM.
Feeding
Prosponse improved final weight of cattle and boosted daily
gain. Overall gain was 11.02kg greater when Prosponse
was fed. Feeding Prosponse increased feed
efficiency by 8.8%.
Prosponse proved most beneficial in diets
containing tallow as compared with soapstock, possibly
because energy density was greater in the tallow diet.
